Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

  1. Rash

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  3. blurred vision
  4. chills
  5. clay-colored stools
  6. confusion
  7. convulsions
  8. dark urine
  9. decreased urine
  10. dizziness
  11. dry mouth
  12. faintness or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  13. fever
  14. flushing
  15. increased thirst
  16. irregular or pounding heartbeat
  17. itching
  18. loss of appetite
  19. mood or mental changes
  20. muscle pain or cramps
  21. muscle spasms or twitching
  22. nausea
  23. nervousness
  24. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  25. pounding in the ears
  26. rapid weight gain
  27. rash with flat lesions or small raised lesions on the skin
  28. shortness of breath
  29. slow or fast heartbeat
  30. sweating
  31. trembling
  32. unpleasant breath odor
  33. unusual tiredness or weakness
  34. vision changes
  35. vomiting of blood
  36. yellow eyes or skin

Rare

  1. Black, bloody, or tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the eye
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. chest pain
  6. eye pain
  7. painful or difficult urination
  8. pale skin
  9. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  10. redness in the white part of the eyes
  11. seeing things that are not there
  12. sore throat
  13. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  14. swollen glands
  15. trouble breathing with activity
  16. unusual bleeding or bruising

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. headache
  3. nausea
  4. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
