Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach (heartburn or indigestion)
  2. blindness
  3. blood in urine
  4. blurred or decreased vision
  5. burning, dry or itching eyes
  6. cough producing mucus
  7. eye color changes
  8. chest pain
  9. chest tightness
  10. confusion
  11. dull nervousness
  12. faintness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  13. fast or irregular heartbeat
  14. fever or chills
  15. headache
  16. high cholesterol
  17. lightheadedness, dizziness or fainting
  18. loss of bladder control
  19. lower back pain
  20. mood or mental changes
  21. muscle pain or stiffness
  22. pain, swelling, or redness in joints
  23. pain or burning while urinating
  24. pelvic pain
  25. pounding in the ears
  26. runny nose
  27. sore throat
  28. shortness of breath
  29. redness, pain, swelling of eye, eyelid, or inner lining of eyelid
  30. slow or irregular heartbeat (less than 50 beats per minute)
  31. sudden sweating
  32. tightness in chest or wheezing
  33. unusual tiredness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Decreased vision
  2. eye discomfort
  3. eye pain
  4. feeling of having something in the eye
  5. itching eye
  6. redness of eye

Less common

  1. Dry eyes
  2. eye discharge or excessive tearing
  3. increased sensitivity of eyes to sunlight
