Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Blood in the urine
  2. frequent urination
  3. lower abdominal or stomach cramping
  4. painful urination

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps, pain, or tenderness
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  5. bloating
  6. changes in skin color
  7. chest pain or discomfort
  8. chills
  9. clay-colored stools
  10. convulsions
  11. cough
  12. dark urine
  13. diarrhea
  14. diarrhea, watery and severe, which may also be bloody
  15. dizziness
  16. fast heartbeat
  17. fever
  18. general tiredness and weakness
  19. headache
  20. increased thirst
  21. irritability
  22. itching
  23. joint or muscle pain
  24. loss of appetite
  25. lower back or side pain
  26. muscle twitching
  27. nausea or vomiting
  28. pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  29. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  30. rash
  31. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  32. red, irritated eyes
  33. restlessness
  34. seizures
  35. shortness of breath
  36. sore throat
  37. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  38. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  39. swollen glands
  40. unpleasant breath odor
  41. unusual bleeding or bruising
  42. unusual tiredness or weakness
  43. unusual weight loss
  44. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  45. vomiting of blood
  46. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. change in taste or bad unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
  3. difficulty with moving
  4. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  5. full feeling
  6. heartburn
  7. muscle aching, cramping, or stiffness
  8. passing gas
  9. swollen joints
