Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. chest pain
  3. cough
  4. dizziness or lightheadedness
  5. fainting
  6. fast heartbeat
  7. muscle weakness
  8. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  9. sudden shortness of breath or troubled breathing
  10. tingling, burning, numbness, or pain in the hands, arms, feet, or legs

Rare

  1. Blood in the urine
  2. decreased urination
  3. fever, alone or with chills and sore throat
  4. irregular heartbeat
  5. low blood pressure
  6. skin rash

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering of the skin
  2. convulsions
  3. itching skin
  4. muscle jerking of the arms and legs
  5. peeling and loosening of the skin
  6. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  7. red, irritated eyes
  8. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  9. sudden loss of consciousness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. diarrhea
  3. drowsiness
  4. nausea
  5. stomach pain

Less common

  1. Dry skin
  2. dryness of the mouth
  3. headache
  4. increased appetite
  5. mood changes
