Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  2. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  3. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. bloating
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blurred vision
  6. chest pain
  7. chills
  8. constipation
  9. cough
  10. darkened urine
  11. decreased appetite
  12. depression or indentation of the skin
  13. diarrhea
  14. difficulty in moving
  15. difficulty swallowing
  16. fast heartbeat
  17. fast, shallow breathing
  18. fever
  19. general feeling of discomfort
  20. general tiredness and weakness
  21. hives, itching, skin rash
  22. indigestion
  23. joint pain or swelling
  24. light-colored stools
  25. loss of appetite
  26. muscle cramping, pains, or stiffness
  27. nausea
  28. painful or difficult urination
  29. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  30. pale skin
  31. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  32. shakiness and unsteady walk, unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination (severe)
  33. sleepiness
  34. sore throat
  35. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  36. stomach pain or discomfort
  37. swollen glands
  38. tightness in the chest
  39. trembling or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  40. troubled breathing with exertion
  41. unusual bleeding or bruising
  42. unusual tiredness or weakness
  43. upper right abdominal pain
  44. vomiting
  45. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
