Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Chills
  2. cough
  3. fever
  4. sore throat
  5. ulcers; sores, or white spots in the mouth

Rare

  1. Bluish lips or skin
  2. pain, left upper abdomen or shoulder
  3. shortness of breath
  4. tightness in the chest
  5. troubled breathing
  6. wheezing

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. difficulty with swallowing
  3. dizziness
  4. fast heartbeat
  5. flushing or redness of the skin
  6. hives or welts
  7. itching, puffiness, or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  8. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  9. skin rash
  10. sores on the skin
  11. unusual tiredness or weakness
  12. unusually warm skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.   1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. acid or sour stomach
  3. belching
  4. bone pain
  5. change in sense of taste
  6. constipation
  7. cracked lips
  8. diarrhea
  9. hair loss or thinning of hair
  10. headache
  11. heartburn
  12. indigestion
  13. joint pain
  14. lack or loss of strength
  15. loss of appetite
  16. muscle soreness
  17. nausea
  18. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  19. swelling of the hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  20. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  21. trouble sleeping
  22. vomiting
  23. weakness, generalized
  24. weight loss

  1. Body produces substance that can bind to drug making it less effective or cause side effects
