Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. confusion
  3. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly
  4. sweating
  5. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at site
  2. blood in urine
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. convulsions
  6. decreased urine
  7. dry mouth
  8. extra heartbeat
  9. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  10. frequent urination
  11. increased thirst
  12. increased volume of pale, dilute urine
  13. irregular heartbeat
  14. loss of appetite
  15. mood changes
  16. muscle pain or cramps
  17. nausea or vomiting
  18. numbness or tingling in hands, feet, or lips
  19. shortness of breath

Rare

  1. Arm, back, or jaw pain
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in urine or stools
  5. bone pain
  6. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  7. changes in skin color
  8. chest pain
  9. chest tightness or heaviness
  10. convulsions
  11. discharge, excessive tearing
  12. feeling of warmth or heat
  13. flushing or redness of skin, especially on face and neck
  14. headache, sudden and severe
  15. increased need to urinate
  16. nervousness
  17. pain, tenderness, or swelling of foot or leg
  18. passing urine more often
  19. pinpoint red spots on skin
  20. pounding in the ears slow or fast heartbeat
  21. redness, pain, or swelling of eye, eyelid, or inner lining of eyelid
  22. swelling around the eyes or the whole face
  23. troubled breathing
  24. unusual bleeding or bruising
  25. weakness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Sleepiness
  2. slurred speech

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in ears
  4. excessive muscle tone
  5. fever
  6. hearing loss
  7. heartburn
  8. indigestion
  9. lack or loss of strength
  10. muscle stiffness
  11. muscle tension or tightness
  12. neck pain
  13. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  14. wheezing

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
