Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. body aches or pain
  3. chills
  4. congestion
  5. cough
  6. difficulty with breathing
  7. discouragement
  8. dryness or soreness of the throat
  9. ear congestion
  10. fear
  11. feeling sad or empty
  12. fever
  13. headache
  14. hoarseness
  15. irritability
  16. lack of appetite
  17. loss of interest or pleasure
  18. loss of voice
  19. nasal congestion
  20. nervousness
  21. rash
  22. runny nose
  23. sneezing
  24. sore throat
  25. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  26. trouble concentrating
  27. trouble sleeping
  28. trouble swallowing
  29. unusual tiredness or weakness
  30. voice changes

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps or pain
  2. arm, back, or jaw pain
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. bladder pain
  5. bloating
  6. bloody or cloudy urine
  7. bloody stools
  8. blurred vision
  9. chest pain or discomfort
  10. chest tightness or heaviness
  11. chills
  12. confusion
  13. confusion as to time, place, or person
  14. constipation
  15. cough
  16. cough producing mucus
  17. decreased urination
  18. diarrhea
  19. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  20. dilated neck veins
  21. dizziness or lightheadedness
  22. dry mouth
  23. extreme fatigue
  24. fainting
  25. false or unusual sense of well-being
  26. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  27. frequent urge to urinate
  28. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  29. hallucinations or seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  30. headache, severe and throbbing
  31. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  32. hyperventilation
  33. increase in heart rate
  34. increase in white blood cells
  35. indigestion
  36. irregular breathing
  37. irritability
  38. itching, pain, redness, swelling, tenderness, or warmth on the skin
  39. joint or muscle pain
  40. lightheadedness
  41. lower back or side pain
  42. nausea
  43. nervousness
  44. numbness or tingling of the face, hands, or feet
  45. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  46. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  47. pounding in the ears
  48. rapid breathing
  49. redness and soreness of the eyes
  50. restlessness
  51. seizures
  52. severe nausea or vomiting
  53. shaking
  54. shivering
  55. skin rash
  56. slow or fast heartbeat
  57. sores in the mouth
  58. stomach cramps or pain
  59. sudden shortness of breath or troubled breathing
  60. sunken eyes
  61. sweating
  62. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  63. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  64. tenderness
  65. thirst
  66. tightness in the chest
  67. tooth or gum pain
  68. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  69. vomiting
  70. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
  71. watery or bloody diarrhea
  72. weight gain
  73. wrinkled skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

  1. Sleepiness or unusual drowsiness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty with moving
  2. muscle stiffness
  3. swelling or redness in the joints

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding after defecation
  2. bloated or full feeling
  3. change in taste
  4. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  5. drowsiness
  6. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  7. feeling of warmth
  8. feeling unusually cold
  9. heartburn
  10. inability to have or keep an erection
  11. increased sweating
  12. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  13. loss of taste
  14. night sweats
  15. passing gas
  16. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  17. relaxed and calm
  18. sleepiness
  19. sudden sweating
  20. toothache
  21. uncomfortable swelling around anus
  22. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  23. weight loss
