Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blurred vision or other vision changes
  3. chest pain
  4. chills or fever
  5. clumsiness or unsteadiness
  6. confusion
  7. dizziness or fainting
  8. increased thirst and urination
  9. mental depression
  10. problems with memory
  11. rapidly changing moods
  12. shortness of breath
  13. sore throat
  14. trembling or shaking
  15. trouble in urinating
  16. uncontrolled movements of the face, mouth, or tongue
  17. unusual bleeding or bruising
  18. unusual tiredness or weakness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Agitation or excitement
  2. fast or pounding heartbeat
  3. increased blood pressure
  4. trouble with sleeping

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. headache
  3. nausea
  4. nervousness

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. belching
  3. decrease in appetite
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty having a bowel movement
  6. dryness of the mouth
  7. dryness of the skin
  8. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  9. flushing or redness of the skin
  10. heartburn
  11. indigestion
  12. muscle stiffness
  13. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  14. sour stomach
  15. stomach discomfort upset or pain
  16. stuffy or runny nose
  17. swelling
  18. tingling, burning, or prickling sensations in the skin
  19. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
