Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. blurred vision
  4. changes in skin color, pain, tenderness, or swelling of foot or leg
  5. chest pain or discomfort
  6. chills
  7. clay-colored stools
  8. confusion
  9. convulsions
  10. cough
  11. dark urine
  12. difficulty swallowing
  13. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly
  14. drowsiness
  15. fast heartbeat
  16. fever
  17. headache
  18. hives
  19. itching
  20. large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  21. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  22. loss of appetite
  23. loss of bladder control
  24. loss of memory
  25. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  26. nausea
  27. painful or difficult urination
  28. problems with memory
  29. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  30. relaxed and calm
  31. shortness of breath
  32. skin rash
  33. sleepiness
  34. slow or irregular heartbeat
  35. sore throat
  36. sores, ulcers, or white spots on lips or in mouth
  37. sudden loss of consciousness
  38. sweating
  39. swollen glands
  40. tightness in chest
  41. unpleasant breath odor
  42. unusual bleeding or bruising
  43. unusual tiredness or weakness
  44. vomiting of blood
  45. wheezing
  46. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

  1. Change in consciousness
  2. loss of consciousness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at site
  4. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  5. discharge, excessive tearing
  6. double vision
  7. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  8. feeling of warmth
  9. heartburn
  10. indigestion
  11. metallic taste
  12. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  13. redness, pain, or swelling of eye, eyelid, or inner lining of eyelid
  14. seeing double
  15. sensation of spinning
  16. sleeplessness
  17. stuffy nose
  18. trouble sleeping
  19. unable to sleep
  20. uncontrolled eye movements
  21. vomiting
