Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blurred vision
  3. changes in skin color
  4. chest pain or discomfort
  5. chills
  6. clay-colored stools
  7. confusion
  8. convulsions
  9. cough
  10. dark urine
  11. difficulty swallowing
  12. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when suddenly getting up from a lying or sitting position
  13. drowsiness
  14. fast heartbeat
  15. fever
  16. headache
  17. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  18. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  19. loss of appetite
  20. loss of bladder control
  21. loss or problems with memory
  22. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  23. nausea
  24. pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  25. painful or difficult urination
  26. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  27. rash, hives, itching, red skin
  28. slow or irregular heartbeat
  29. sore throat
  30. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  31. stomach pain
  32. sudden loss of consciousness
  33. sweating
  34. swollen glands
  35. tightness in the chest
  36. unpleasant breath odor
  37. unusual bleeding or bruising
  38. unusual tiredness or weakness
  39. vomiting of blood
  40. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

  1. Loss of consciousness
  2. shaking or jerking of one area or side of the body

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Belching
  2. bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  3. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  4. discharge, excessive tearing
  5. double vision
  6. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  7. feeling of warmth
  8. heartburn
  9. indigestion
  10. metallic taste
  11. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  12. redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  13. sensation of spinning
  14. stuffy nose
  15. trouble sleeping
  16. uncontrolled eye movements
  17. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
