Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Diarrhea

Rare

  1. Agitation
  2. bleeding, discoloration of the skin, infection, inflammation, lumps, pain, redness, soreness, swelling, tenderness, or warmth at the injection site
  3. blisters
  4. confusion
  5. diarrhea (watery and severe) which may also be bloody
  6. feeling that others can hear your thoughts or control your behavior
  7. fever
  8. pain, inflammation, or swelling in the calves of the legs, shoulders, or hands
  9. redness and swelling of the skin
  10. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  11. sensation of burning on the skin
  12. severe mood or mental changes
  13. skin rash, itching, or redness
  14. stomach cramps or pain (severe)
  15. trembling
  16. unusual behavior

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  3. change in vision
  4. cough
  5. dark urine
  6. difficulty with breathing
  7. difficulty with chewing, talking, or swallowing
  8. fast or irregular heartbeat
  9. feeling faint
  10. general body swelling
  11. hives
  12. hoarseness
  13. joint or muscle pain
  14. muscle cramps, spasms, or stiffness
  15. peeling or loosening of the skin
  16. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  17. seizures
  18. severe dizziness
  19. severe tiredness
  20. tightness in the chest
  21. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  22. unusual bleeding or bruising
  23. unusual tiredness or weakness
  24. voice changes
  25. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Headache

Less common

  1. Change in taste
  2. constipation
  3. dizziness
  4. drowsiness
  5. lightheadedness
  6. nausea
  7. nervousness
  8. stomach discomfort
  9. trouble sleeping
  10. vaginal itching and discharge
  11. vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Feeling of warmth or heat
  2. flushing or redness of the skin, especially on the face and neck
  3. sweating
