Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Fever

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. back, leg, or stomach pains
  3. bleeding gums
  4. chest pain
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. dark urine
  8. difficulty with breathing
  9. difficulty with swallowing
  10. dizziness or lightheadedness
  11. fainting
  12. fast heartbeat
  13. general body swelling
  14. headache
  15. hives or welts, itching, or skin rash
  16. loss of appetite
  17. nausea
  18. nosebleeds
  19. pale skin
  20. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  21. redness of the skin
  22. seizures
  23. sore throat
  24. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  25. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area
  26. tightness in the chest
  27. unusual tiredness or weakness
  28. vomiting
  29. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Pain, redness, itching, or swelling at the injection site

Less common

  1. Bleeding, bruising, or lumps at the injection site
  2. diarrhea
  3. difficulty with moving
  4. joint pain or swelling
  5. muscle ache, cramps, pain, or stiffness
  6. upper abdominal or stomach pain

Rare

  1. Blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, numbness, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. body aches or pain
  3. ear congestion
  4. loss of voice
  5. sneezing
  6. stuffy or runny nose

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. constipation
  3. dark urine
  4. difficulty with moving
  5. indigestion
  6. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
