Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Rash

Rare

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  3. chest pain or tightness
  4. chills
  5. fever
  6. hives or welts, itching skin
  7. lightheadedness
  8. painful or difficult urination
  9. muscle aching or cramping
  10. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  11. swollen glands
  12. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  13. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  14. unusual bleeding or bruising
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness
  16. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  17. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  4. bloody urine
  5. blurred or double vision or other changes in vision
  6. bone pain
  7. confusion
  8. cough
  9. coughing up blood
  10. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  11. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  12. difficulty with chewing or talking
  13. dizziness
  14. drooping eyelids
  15. fainting
  16. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  17. headache
  18. increased blood pressure
  19. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  20. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  21. increased thirst
  22. irregular heartbeat, recurrent
  23. loss of appetite
  24. lower back or side pain
  25. muscle pain or weakness
  26. nausea
  27. numbness or tingling in the face, arms, or legs
  28. nosebleeds
  29. painful, swollen joints
  30. paralysis
  31. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  32. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  33. rapid weight gain
  34. red or black, tarry stools
  35. red or dark brown urine
  36. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  37. sensation of skin burning
  38. severe sunburn
  39. severe tiredness
  40. stomach cramps or tenderness
  41. swelling of the face, fingers, or lower legs
  42. trouble speaking, thinking, or walking
  43. unusual weight gain or loss
  44. vomiting
  45. watery or bloody diarrhea

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Bad, unusual, or unpleasant taste
  2. difficulty having a bowel movement
  3. dryness or soreness of the throat
  4. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  5. hoarseness
  6. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  7. sudden sweating
  8. voice changes
