Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Chest pain
  2. chills
  3. cough or hoarseness
  4. fever
  5. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  6. headache
  7. lower back or side pain
  8. painful or difficult urination
  9. shortness of breath
  10. sore throat
  11. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  12. swollen or painful glands
  13. tightness in the chest
  14. unusual bleeding or bruising
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness
  16. wheezing

Incidence not known

  1. Back or leg pains
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  5. bloating
  6. blood in the urine or stools
  7. blurred vision
  8. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  9. changes in skin color, pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  10. clay-colored stools
  11. cloudy urine
  12. cold sweats
  13. confusion
  14. constipation
  15. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  16. coughing up blood
  17. cracks in the skin
  18. darkened urine
  19. diarrhea
  20. difficulty breathing
  21. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
  22. dry mouth
  23. fast heartbeat
  24. flushed, dry skin
  25. fruit-like breath odor
  26. greatly decreased frequency of urination or amount of urine
  27. hearing loss
  28. increased hunger
  29. increased thirst
  30. indigestion
  31. itching
  32. loss of appetite
  33. nausea or vomiting
  34. nosebleeds
  35. pain in the joints or muscles
  36. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  37. pale skin
  38. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  39. red, irritated eyes
  40. red, swollen skin
  41. skin rash
  42. spots on your skin resembling a blister or pimple
  43. sweating
  44. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  45. trouble breathing with exertion
  46. unusual weight loss
  47. vomiting of blood
  48. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Decreased urination
  2. drowsiness
  3. increase in heart rate
  4. irregular heartbeat
  5. irritability
  6. mood changes
  7. muscle cramps
  8. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in the hands, feet, or lips
  9. rapid breathing
  10. seizures
  11. sunken eyes
  12. thirst
  13. trembling
  14. weak pulse
  15. weakness and heaviness of the legs
  16. wrinkled skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  2. hives or welts
  3. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  4. muscle spasm
  5. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  6. restlessness
  7. sensation of spinning
  8. severe sunburn
  9. weakness

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
