Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blood in the urine or stools
  3. chills
  4. cough
  5. diarrhea (continuing)
  6. difficulty with swallowing
  7. fever
  8. heartburn
  9. hoarseness
  10. lower back or side pain
  11. painful or difficult urination
  12. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  13. sores in the mouth and on the lips
  14. stomach pain (continuing)
  15. unusual bleeding or bruising
  16. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. body aches or pain
  3. chapped, red, or swollen lips
  4. confusion
  5. congestion
  6. cough
  7. difficulty with breathing
  8. difficulty with moving
  9. difficulty with swallowing
  10. dryness or soreness of the throat
  11. flushing or redness of the skin
  12. irregular heartbeat
  13. joint pain or swelling
  14. muscle ache, pains, or stiffness
  15. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  16. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  17. pain at the injection site
  18. runny nose
  19. scaling, redness, burning, pain, or other signs of inflammation of the lips
  20. seizures
  21. slow growth
  22. stomach cramps
  23. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  24. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  25. tremor
  26. unusually warm skin
  27. voice changes
  28. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Darkening of the skin
  2. general feeling of discomfort or weakness
  3. nausea
  4. skin rash or acne
  5. unusual feeling of dullness or sluggishness
  6. vomiting
