Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. body aches or pain
  4. chills
  5. cough
  6. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  7. ear congestion
  8. fever
  9. headache
  10. loss of voice
  11. lower back or side pain
  12. runny or stuffy nose
  13. sneezing
  14. sore throat
  15. trouble breathing
  16. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning, pain, itching, or other discomfort of the eye
  2. pain upon instillation of drops
  3. redness of the white part of your eyes or inside of your eyelids

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. clear or yellow fluid from the eye
  3. difficulty with reading
  4. eye irritation
  5. feeling of having something in the eye
  6. halos around lights
  7. headache
  8. itching skin
  9. redness, swelling, or itching of the eyelid
  10. sticky or matted eyelashes
  11. stinging
  12. watery eye
