Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bloated abdomen or stomach
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. blurred vision
  5. chest pain
  6. cough or hoarseness
  7. dizziness
  8. fast or irregular breathing
  9. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  10. fever or chills
  11. headache
  12. lower back or side pain
  13. nervousness
  14. pain and fullness in the upper abdominal or stomach
  15. painful or difficult urination
  16. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  17. pounding in the ears
  18. skin rash or itching
  19. slow heartbeat
  20. swelling of the eyes or eyelids
  21. tightness in the chest
  22. trouble breathing
  23. unusual bleeding or bruising
  24. weight gain
  25. yellow eyes and skin

Incidence not known

  1. seizures

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. back pain
  3. belching
  4. bloody nose
  5. depression
  6. diarrhea
  7. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  8. fear
  9. heartburn
  10. indigestion
  11. loss of appetite
  12. lack or loss of strength
  13. sneezing
  14. stomach discomfort or upset
  15. stuffy nose or runny nose
  16. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  17. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over affected area
  18. trouble sleeping
