Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Hypersensitivity reaction, including abdominal or stomach pain; cough; diarrhea; fever; headache; nausea; numbness or tingling of the face, feet, or hands; pain in the joints; pain in the muscles; shortness of breath; skin rash; sore throat; swelling of the feet or lower legs; unusual feeling of discomfort or illness; unusual tiredness or weakness; or vomiting

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. bloating
  3. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  4. chest pain
  5. chills
  6. constipation
  7. convulsions
  8. dark urine
  9. decreased appetite
  10. diarrhea
  11. difficulty with swallowing
  12. dizziness
  13. fast heartbeat
  14. fast, shallow breathing
  15. feeling of fullness
  16. general feeling of discomfort
  17. hives or welts
  18. indigestion
  19. itching
  20. light-colored stools
  21. loss of appetite
  22. loss of bladder control
  23. muscle cramping
  24. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  25. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  26. pale skin
  27. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  28. red, irritated eyes
  29. redness of the skin
  30. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  31. sleepiness
  32. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  33. sudden loss of consciousness
  34. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  35. tightness in the chest
  36. troubled breathing with exertion
  37. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  38. unusual bleeding or bruising
  39. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  40. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  41. wheezing
  42. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abnormal dreams
  2. burning feeling in the chest or stomach
  3. fear
  4. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  5. lightheadedness
  6. nervousness
  7. sensation of spinning
  8. severe and throbbing headache
  9. sleeplessness
  10. stomach upset
  11. tenderness in the stomach area
  12. trouble with sleeping
  13. unable to sleep

Incidence not known

  1. Abnormal breathing sounds
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. dry mouth
  5. flushed, dry skin
  6. fruit-like breath odor
  7. gaining weight around your neck, upper back, breast, face, or waist
  8. hair loss
  9. increased hunger
  10. increased thirst
  11. increased urination
  12. muscle weakness
  13. sweating
  14. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  15. thinning of the hair
  16. unexplained weight loss
