Nicotine Dependence Center supplies information about electronic cigarettes
E-cigarettes provide inhaled doses of a vaporized solution of propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin with liquid nicotine. There is no long-term safety data showing the impact of repeated inhalation on lung tissue, but short-term data suggests e-cigarettes may cause airway irritation.

Biomechanical testing identifies novel surgical knot Biomechanical testing of commonly used surgical knots revealed the superior holding power of a variant called the two-strand overhand locking (TSOL) knot. Mayo Clinic orthopedic surgeons recommend this knot to guard against slippage, especially in high-tension closures such as flexor tendon repairs.
