Research

Currently several important research studies on diverticular disease are being conducted at Mayo Clinic. Physicians hope that information yielded from these projects will one day lead to a better understanding of diverticulitis. Current projects include:

• The incidence of colonic diverticulitis in Olmsted County, Minn.
• Sigmoid diverticular disease: the surgical epidemiology
