Ingrown hairs are hairs that grow out slightly and then curl back and penetrate the skin. You might notice redness, tenderness and swelling. This common problem is especially likely if you have curly hair. These shaving tips can help: 1. Use a lubricating shave gel. 2. Use a sharp, single-blade razor. 3. Shave in the direction of hair growth. 4. Don't pull your skin taut while shaving.
