Stress and hair loss can be related. Extreme emotional or physical stress, such as a traumatic injury, could take a toll on your tresses. In these cases, any hair loss is usually temporary. Be sure to talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your hair.
