Vaccination is the best defense against getting the flu. Following is information about flu vaccinations for the public at Mayo Clinic.
Flu vaccinations 2015-2016
Seasonal flu shots are available by appointment for registered Mayo Clinic patients. Adult and pediatric patients should schedule with their primary care doctors.
Based on availability of the vaccine, patients are encouraged to schedule their flu shot. Walk-in appointments are not available, nor are flu shots for anyone who is not a registered patient. The flu vaccination cannot be given at the same time as other vaccinations.

Flu vaccine is available beginning Oct. 1. To check availability, call the Flu Vaccine Information Hotline at 904-953-0301. This line will be updated as the vaccine supply status changes.
- Primary care patients (Department of Family Medicine and Division of Community Internal Medicine) may receive the seasonal flu vaccine at their regularly scheduled visits.
- Registered Mayo Clinic patients may receive the seasonal vaccine until the supply is depleted. Check in at the Allergy Clinic, Davis Building, Fourth Floor, weekdays between 9 a.m. and noon or between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Influenza vaccinations for Mayo Clinic patients will begin Oct. 12. Patients can schedule appointments after Oct. 1 by calling their primary care providers. Appointments will be available Monday through Friday during clinic hours.
Saturday appointments will be available as scheduled visits from 8 a.m. to noon at Mayo Family Clinic Kasson and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayo Family Clinic Northeast on:
Walk-in flu vaccinations (unscheduled)
Starting Oct. 19, the northeast, northwest and southeast Mayo Family Clinic locations will offer walk-in flu vaccinations in the lobby areas Monday through Friday during clinic hours. Walk-in options are not available from 11:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 20 minutes before closing each day.
