Research
Mayo Clinic has made important contributions to research on dysphagia and its causes. Researchers are conducting leading-edge studies on esophageal cancer, including trials that assess surgical treatment techniques.
Mayo Clinic research has also helped advance endoscopic imaging methods, minimally invasive therapies, and diagnosis and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis and esophageal strictures.
Studies are being done on treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis with steroid medications and other drug compounds.
