Established by a generous gift from John and Lillian Mathews, this museum serves as the "front door of Mayo Clinic" and the "front door of philanthropy." Exhibits, films, publications, curricula and retail items all connect Mayo's history with our current activities and our plans for the future — along with the key role of philanthropy in advancing the Mayo mission. Mayo Clinic Heritage Hall opened on the Rochester campus in 2004; museums will open at Mayo Clinic Arizona in 2006 and Mayo Clinic Florida in 2007.
