Cancer

More than 20,000 people receive cancer treatment at Mayo Clinic each year. In part because of the research taking place in Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, the newest and most effective therapies are available to these patients.

In the center — one of the largest in the country — physicians and scientists work together to study the molecular mechanisms of cancer, test promising new cancer treatments in rigorous clinical trials, and evaluate cancer outcomes and trends in different populations.

Many Mayo Clinic oncologists, in addition to treating patients, spend a portion of their time conducting research within the center.

Though Mayo Clinic Cancer Center is a single National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, it has facilities and researchers at each of Mayo's three campuses in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota. This geographic diversity brings with it a wide range of expertise and ideas, creating a unique and collaborative research environment.

Benefactor support from people like you is vital for keeping Mayo Clinic Cancer Center at the forefront of cancer research, enabling the center to continue developing better treatments — such as proton beam therapy — for the cancer patients of tomorrow.

Your contribution can help Mayo Clinic Cancer Center continue providing solutions and hope to people with cancer. Please give online or call 800-297-1185 (toll-free) to discuss your gift today.
