Overview

The Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic Rochester offers a full range of dermatologic care for both common and rare problems of skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes.

All staff doctors in the Department of Dermatology are certified by the American Board of Dermatology and many have subspecialty qualifications in the areas of genetics, immunology, oral disease, pathology, pediatrics, pharmacology, public health and surgery.

Mayo dermatology specialists also have academic appointments in Mayo Medical School for teaching medical students and residents. They have special areas of expertise in which they conduct clinical research and advance the knowledge of the practice of dermatology.

The department offers consultation within many specialty clinics to serve the needs of patients with complex or severe skin disorders.
