Multiorgan transplants

In the Transplant Center, lung transplant surgeons work with surgeons trained in other types of transplantation to perform heart-lung transplant surgery or other multiorgan transplant procedures.

People with pulmonary hypertension, complex congenital heart diseases such as Eisenmenger syndrome or other heart conditions may be candidates for a heart-lung transplant. In this procedure, surgeons replace your heart and lung with a donor heart and lung.

Surgeons trained in all areas of transplantation have experience and expertise treating people with complex conditions who may need heart-lung, lung-liver and lung-liver-heart transplant surgery. In addition to multiorgan transplants, surgeons can perform other procedures at the same time as transplant surgery when necessary.

Watch Mark Stegall, M.D., and Richard Daly, M.D., discuss lowering rejection risk in organ transplants.
