Clinical trials Below are current clinical trials.82 studies in Radiology (open studies only). Filter this list of studies by location, status and more. A Study of the Ability for CT Imaging to Accurately Predict the Fragility (Quality of Being Easily Broken) of Kidney Stones during Surgical Intervention Rochester, Minn. A Study of the ability for CT imaging to accurately predict the fragility (quality of being easily broken) of kidney stones during surgical intervention. Quantitative Assessment of Tumor Ablation Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to retrospectively analyze potential correlation between ablation zone/margin and tumor recurrence by using the Software Product to quantitatively evaluate diagnostic/pre-operative CT images, intra-operative CT images during ablation procedures, and follow-up CT images; and to apply and evaluate the FDA cleared Software Product during CT-guided ablation procedures for intra-operative monitoring and confirmation. A Study of the Possible Use of a New Imaging Method with Glioma Tumors Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to see if Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) a recently developed imaging technique can be used to characterize and help stage glioma tumors and evaluate response to therapy. A Study to Evaluate Photon Counting Detector CT Utility in Identifying Acute Wrist Fractures. Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to examine the ability of PCD-CT to (1) display subtle fractures of the wrist using the system’s increased spatial resolution compared to conventional wrist CT and MR; and (2) evaluate the ability of PCD-CT with virtual non-calcium images to identify bone marrow edema at acute fracture sites. Ultrasound Microvessel Imaging of Transplant Kidney Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to investigate the value of ultrasound microvessel imaging for evaluation of transplant kidney health. Evaluating Highly Flexible (aka AIR) RF Coils for Patients Undergoing MR Imaging for Radiation Therapy Planning Rochester, Minn. To assess the quality of images obtained with a new RF (AIR) coil when compared to those obtained using FDA approved RF coils of patients undergoing MR imaging for radiation therapy treatment planning. Magnetic Resonance Elastography of Traumatic Brain Injury Rochester, Minn. This purpose of this pilot study is to determine if there are changes in mild TBI detectible with MRE. This is the first time this novel technology has been applied to mild TBI and the anticipated results are theoretical. A Study to Assess Biomarkers of Cerebral Cavernous Angioma with Symptomatic Hemorrhage (CASH) Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to develop prognostic and diagnostic blood tests for symptomatic brain hemorrhage in patients diagnosed with cavernous angiomas, a critical clinical challenge in a disease affecting more than a million Americans. We further examine whether blood biomarkers can replace or enhance the accuracy of advanced imaging in association with lesional bleeding. The project tests a novel integrational approach of biomarker development in a mechanistically defined cerebrovascular disease, with a clinically relevant context of use. A Clinical Use Application for the Humanitarian Use Device Exemption Use Protocol of TheraSphere for Treatment of Unresectable Primary or Secondary Liver Neoplasia Eau Claire, Wis. This protocol allows multiple treatments with TheraSphere® that may be delivered on an outpatient basis. Patients may receive a single dose to a liver lobe or segmental treatment delivered as a sequence of treatments approximately 30-90 days apart. The principal clinician, working with a multidisciplinary team, will develop a specific treatment plan for each patient, based upon the presenting condition of the patient, the vascular anatomy and the desired goal of treatment. Viscoelastic Parameters Estimation and Imaging for the Assessment of Axillary Lymph Nodes Rochester, Minn. This study is being done to: • Test an investigational stiffness measurement and imaging method on the lymph node found in the underarm area. • Compare investigational imaging to sonography images. • Compare investigational information to FDA approved US elasticity imaging conducted by SuperSonic Imaging (SSI) machine on the same lymph node in your underarm area. • Compare to FDA approved ultrasound stiffness imaging system (GE Logiq E9) • Compare to ultrasound images using Alpinion clinical ultrasound platform, FDA approved ECUBE 12and a non-FAD approved ECUBE 12R Pagination Clinical studies PrevPrevious Page Go to page 22 Go to page 33 Go to page 44 Go to page 55 Go to page 66 NextNext Page Request an appointment Locations, travel & lodgingResearch Feb. 16, 2024 Share on: FacebookTwitter RadiologySectionsOverviewTests & proceduresConditions treatedDoctorsDoctors by location and specialtySpecialty groupsExpertise & rankingsLocations, travel & lodgingClinical trialsResearchPatient storiesCosts & insuranceNews from Mayo ClinicReferrals Research: It's all about patients Show transcript for video Research: It's all about patients [MUSIC PLAYING] Joseph Sirven, M.D., Professor of Neurology, Mayo Clinic: Mayo's mission is about the patient. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
