OverviewBy Mayo Clinic Staff
Mayo Clinic Pediatric Rehabilitation offers the latest evaluation and treatment techniques to improve function and quality of life for children with a variety of diagnoses and disabilities. Our experts see children from our own region as well as from all over the world, in a warm, holistic and collaborative environment.
Using a team approach, Mayo's pediatric rehabilitation experts partner with many types of specialists at Mayo — such as pediatric neurology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, oncology, speech pathology, neuropsychology and others. You and your child are at the center of our comprehensive team.
Continuum of care
Mayo Clinic Pediatric Rehabilitation serves children and teenagers across the care continuum, from birth through the high school years.
For example, we may see a child from birth through the end of high school for a specific condition. Or we might start working with a child in the Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, then follow that child to the general pediatric floor, the rehabilitation unit and eventually the outpatient clinic.
Mayo's pediatric rehabilitation team facilitates ongoing care in your home community as needed. We work with numerous medical specialists, both inside and outside of Mayo Clinic. In addition, we partner with schools and other community organizations to help maximize your child's recovery, wellness, independence and quality of life.
Our pediatric rehabilitation programs share Mayo Clinic's longstanding primary value that "the needs of the patient come first."
