Inborn Errors of Metabolism Clinic
The Inborn Errors of Metabolism Clinic within the Department of Clinical Genomics provides comprehensive, medical and nutritional inpatient and outpatient services to children and adults with inborn errors of metabolism. These include urea cycle disorders and other disorders of amino acid metabolism, organic acidemias, fatty-acid oxidation disorders, congenital disorders of glycosylation, to name a few.
To ensure you or your child receives the exact care needed, our team is made up of:
- Two board-certified biochemical geneticists
- Multiple other geneticists
- An experienced metabolic dietitian
- A dedicated metabolic nurse
- A genetic counselor with experience in metabolics and newborn screening
When you come to Mayo Clinic, specialists will perform an initial evaluation that includes a detailed history, physical exam and diagnostic biochemical and genetics testing.
