1. A Study to Evaluate Factors in Breast Cancer Screening Among Asian Americans in Olmsted and Surrounding Counties

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of acculturation, socio-economic status (SES) and place of residence (urban vs. rural) on the level of participation in breast cancer screening programs and on the breast cancer knowledge and beliefs among Asian American women in Olmsted and surrounding counties.

2. A Study to Evaluate Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea in Breast Cancer Patients

   Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   The purpose of the study is to alleviate the occurrence of chemotherapy-induced nausea (CIN) and to improve chemotherapy treatment outcomes. Recent research has shown that changes in the functions performed by the gut microbiome can cause the occurrence of chemotherapy-induced symptoms that include chemotherapy-induced nausea. 

3. A Study to Compare Administering Olaparib Concurrently With Radiotherapy vs. Radiotherapy Alone in Treating Patients With Inflammatory Breast Cancer

   Rochester, Minn., La Crosse, Wis., Eau Claire, Wis.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well radiation therapy with or without olaparib works in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Olaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy with or without olaparib may work better in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer.

4. Understanding the Relationship Between Benign Breast Tissue, Benign Breast Disease, and Breast Cancer Development

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to culture human mammary cells to identify cellular characteristics associated with lobular involution status. 

5. ACT-MBC: A Study of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) in Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) (ACT-MBC)

   Mankato, Minn., Rochester, Minn., Eau Claire, Wis., Albert Lea, Minn.

   Collection of blood to track serial circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in subjects with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Study will also collect data from investigators are Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Clinic Health Systems to determine effectiveness of the proposed process.

6. A Study to Evaluate the Patient Experience Regarding Image-Guided Percutaneous Breast Biopsy

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to to better understand the concerns of patients prior to a breast biopsy so that we may improve our practice and ultimately enhance overall patient experience.

7. Estradiol in Treating Patients With ER Beta Positive, Triple Negative Locally Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer

   Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this trial is to determine how well estradiol works in treating patients with estrogen receptor beta (ER beta) positive, triple negative breast cancer that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or other places in the body (metastatic). Hormone receptors like ER beta allow the body to respond appropriately to hormones. Triple negative means that the breast cancer does not express other hormone receptors called ER alpha, progesterone, and HER2. In some people with triple negative breast cancer, ER beta is overexpressed. Tumor cells that overexpress ER beta grow slower in the laboratory and this growth is slowed in the presence of estrogen. Estradiol is a form of estrogen. This study may help doctors determine whether tumor cells that overexpress ER beta shrink in the presence of estradiol.

8. A Study to Evaluate the Immune Response to Anti-HER2 Therapies

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between HER2 specific T-cell response in HER2-positive breast cancer patients with stage I-IV who receive anti-HER2 therapies, such as trastuzumab, pertuzumab, lapatinib, or neratinib and clinical responses.

9. T-DM1 and Tucatinib Compared With T-DM1 Alone in Preventing Relapses in People With High Risk HER2-Positive Breast Cancer

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to determine if the invasive disease-free survival (iDFS) with T-DM1 and tucatinib is superior to the iDFS in the control arm (T-DM1 + placebo) when administered to high risk patients with HER2-positive breast cancer and residual disease after neoadjuvant HER2-directed therapy.

10. Trial of Multi-epitope HER2 Peptide Vaccine in Patients with HER2-expressing DCIS

    Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

    The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, effcicacy and tolerability of H2NVAC in patients with HER2-expressing DCIS in order to  prevent future invasive breast cancer among patients who are diagnosed with DCIS.
