Deep Brain Stimulation

Research

Mayo Clinic researchers are assessing the effectiveness of deep brain stimulation in treating various disorders. They are also trying to understand why deep brain stimulation is effective. One hypothesis being explored is that the treatment stimulates the production of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters.
