Specialists in Neurosurgery and Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville introduced deep brain stimulation (DBS) as a treatment in the United States in 1997. They have treated hundreds of patients with movement disorders using this technique. They also plan to offer DBS as a treatment for chronic cluster headaches.
