Overview

The Department of Critical Care Medicine provides comprehensive medical management for individuals with critical illness or after major surgery. These patients require advanced monitoring and care in the Intensive Care Unit setting. The full spectrum of ICU services is provided by specialty-trained intensivists who are present in the hospital 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The closed ICU model of care is utilized at Mayo Clinic Hospital, which is located in northeast Phoenix.
