Coronal Synostosis

Image of skull with coronal synostosis

Coronal synostosis may cause one side of the forehead (anterior or frontal) to be flattened (plagiocephaly). In bicoronal synostosis, both sides of the forehead are affected, which may cause your child to have a flattened, elevated forehead (brachycephaly).
