The Heart Failure Clinic at Mayo's campus in Rochester is one of the largest in the world. Since 1991, nearly 8,000 patients have been treated in the clinic. With their specialized practice in heart failure and proven record of successes, the clinic's 15 physicians have demonstrated the experience and expertise to recognize and treat rare forms of the disease.
One of the few facilities in the world devoted specifically to advanced heart failure, Mayo's new Advanced Failure Clinic in Rochester assesses patients who may need a ventricular assist device (VAD) or surgical treatment. Patients are seen by specialists from the Heart Failure Clinic, as well as transplant cardiologists and surgeons. The clinic is designed to provide a timely, one-stop comprehensive assessment.
