Computer-Assisted Brain Surgery

Treatment at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota

Doctors trained in brain surgery (neurosurgeons) perform more than 3,000 neurosurgical procedures every year at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. More than 300 of these procedures involve computer assistance. Mayo Clinic neurosurgeons also use the Gamma Knife, which offers computer-assisted radiation treatment of brain tumors. This technology reduces treatment time and allows doctors to treat more than one tumor during a single treatment session.
