Computer-Assisted Brain Surgery

Treatment at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota

Neurosurgeons in Rochester perform more than 3,000 neurosurgical procedures each year — among the highest procedural volumes in the world. They perform more than 300 computer-assisted brain surgery procedures per year.

Mayo neurosurgeons also use the latest Gamma Knife, which offers computer-assisted radiation treatment of brain tumors. The new technology reduces treatment time and allows doctors to treat more than one tumor during a single treatment session.
