According to the American Heart Association, about 310,000 adults in the United States die each year from sudden cardiac arrest occurring outside the hospital setting or in the emergency department. Survival decreases 7 percent to 10 percent per minute without immediate, effective CPR.
Mayo Clinic, St. Johns County Fire Rescue and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue will be offering an adult, hands-only CPR course and AED (automated external defibrillator) training at Mayo Clinic. Arrive any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and learn the simple steps in a 30-minute instructional and hands-on training session.
Minimum age: 14
Course is not for CPR certification.
