Mayo Clinic Colon and Rectal Surgery is happy to work with physicians outside of Mayo Clinic on referral requests. A colorectal surgeon is also available to discuss a possible referral.

Colon and rectal surgery fellowship program

The Colon and Rectal Surgery Division has an excellent and comprehensive fellowship training program. Fellows are selected from an extremely competitive pool of applicants.

Fellows participate in patient care during this educational process. They are under the active and close supervision of the colorectal staff members. Patients benefit from the active exchange of ideas and intellectual discourse that are indispensable components of medical education. Most cases are discussed in conferences among many colorectal surgeons and other specialists to ensure that patients benefit from their accumulated experience.
