Mayo Clinic Briefings — Residential Intensive Addiction Program Reopens at Mayo Clinic

A 28-day residential program for intensive alcohol and other drug addictions is now open within the Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.

Directed by physicians, the program is distinguished by the collaborative model of Mayo Clinic care that offers a multidisciplinary approach to treating the problems of addiction. It is based in the Generose building on the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester. The program's goal is to provide multidisciplinary care in a safe and supportive environment in which patients can achieve sobriety and learn relapse-prevention skills to help them achieve an enduring sobriety when they leave the structured therapeutic environment.

In addition to specialized evaluation and treatment of those who have alcohol and other drug use problems, the treatment experience includes a 3-day program for family members or friends of the person undergoing treatment.
