Community Internal Medicine in Florida

Overview

Physicians in the Division of Community Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida provide comprehensive primary care to adults and adolescents living in Northeast Florida. Physicians see patients at Mayo Primary Care Centers in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach and St. Augustine.

The general internist combines the characteristics of a diagnostician and a consultant in disease prevention and health promotion. Primary care general internists provide a continuum of care between the hospital and the outpatient setting. By virtue of training in medical specialties, general internists are adept at caring for patients with multisystem disease.

The Division of General Internal Medicine provides comprehensive evaluations to adults living outside the Jacksonville area who have complex medical problems.
