Mayo Clinic Exploring Program Available Once Again
The Mayo Clinic Exploring Program is off to a wonderful start
in 2008-2009. Currently there are two Exploring Posts available:
the Allied Health Post (therapists, radiography,
respiratory, nursing, etc.) and the Medical Post (physician).
The Mayo Foundation, in partnership with the Learning for
Life Program, BSA, provides this program for high school 10th – 12th graders who are interested in these health care careers.
Each Exploring Post provides a learning experience revolving
around the following goals: career exploration, life skill
development, service learning experiences, character education
and leadership opportunities.
Both Exploring Posts meet from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on the
following dates:
- December 15
- January 12
- January 26
- February 9
- February 23
- March 9
- March 23
- April 6
No pre-registration is required to participate in the Exploring
Program. Simply come to the main entrance to the Siebens building
promptly at 7 p.m. on the above dates. If you are a new student,
please bring $15 with you for the registration fee. Most building
entrances are locked in the evening, so it is important to
arrive on time. Representatives will be available to let you
in the building and take you to the meeting room. For your
convenience, there is a drop-off spot near the main entrance
of Siebens in the 2nd Avenue circle drive.
