| Daily Tasks |

Registered Nurses (RNs) are responsible for the nursing plan and provision of nursing care to patients in the hospital setting. Duties include patient assessment and planning, providing care, patient/family education, discharge planning and care evaluation. RNs work closely with physicians and other health-care providers.

| Skills/Talents |
|
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Should be flexible and be able to adapt to unpredictable situations. Decision making and problem solving are important skills.

| Work Setting |
|
A nursing unit at the hospitals. There are approximately 64 different specialty care units at Saint Marys and Rochester Methodist hospitals.
|
|
| Work Hours |
|
Individuals could work 8-40 hours a week with 8-hour, 12-hour, or 8- and 12-hour rotating shifts. Day/evening, evening, day/night, and nights shifts are available. Individuals would work every other weekend or every third weekend.
|
|
| Education |
|
Graduate from an accredited (National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) associate, bachelor, or diploma nursing program within the last two years, or have working experience in a direct patient care setting within the last five to seven years.
|

| Qualifications |
|
Must have a current Minnesota registered nurse license and CPR certification.
