I process patient blood and body fluid collections that are delivered to the Central Clinical Laboratory 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I perform tasks such as sorting, centrifuging, and delivering specimens to the appropriate testing laboratories in a timely and efficient manner. I am also responsible for maintaining a specimen storage system, which serves as a resource for physicians and other laboratory personnel. I also order tests and work with doctors regarding tests they have requested for their patients.

Computer skills are important in this job and you must be organized, be able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment. I need to work both independently and in a team environment.

The atmosphere here is friendly, fun and challenging every day. My position is a good starting point to move up in the institution and further my education.
