CLINICAL DIETITIAN
Daily Tasks
Clinical dietitians help patients maintain good nutrition by planning for their nutritional care based on their medical needs. Dietitians develop medical nutrition therapy standards, along with educational materials and provide guidance to dietetic technicians, nutrition assistants, dietetic intern students and newly hired staff.

Work Setting
Hospital or clinic setting.
Work Hours
Varied daytime schedule including Monday through Sunday time commitments.
Education
Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field, after which an American Dietetic Association accredited internship or approved training program must be successfully completed, along with a national written examination.
Qualifications
Previous clinical experience preferred.
