The Career Speaker Program has been designed to support school districts in meeting the Minnesota Graduation Standard for career investigation. Topics covered by the speakers are:
- Skills needed and education requirements for the job
- Tasks and skill building for the job
- Personal experiences in the job
- Career pathways
- Typical days
- Linkages between education and the workplace
- Career trends and demands
- Job pluses and minuses
The Career Speaker Program will be offered to as many students and schools as possible, limited only by speaker capacity at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and Mayo Health System.
