Cardiovascular Diseases in Minnesota

Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Ablation Laboratory

Mayo's Electrophysiology Laboratory is active in all aspects of the care of children, adolescents, and adult patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Outpatients are seen in the Arrhythmia Clinic and Pediatric Cardiology Clinic.

Inpatient electrophysiology studies are performed in three new state-of-the-art biplane procedure rooms with advance analysis and recording equipment. A fourth procedure room is dedicated to tilt testing and implantable defibrillator assessment.

The laboratory has over 25 years' experience with diagnosing and managing cardiac arrhythmias, including patients with syncope, supraventricular tachycardia (e.g. AV nodal reentry, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome), atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia, and survivors of cardiac arrest.

Mayo Clinic is a national leader in the areas of catheter ablation and implantable devices, including the use of advanced technology for treating arrhythmias. Over 10,000 electrophysiology procedures have been performed during the past 6 years.
