Mayo Electrocardiography Laboratory

The Mayo Electrocardiography (ECG) Laboratory is active in all aspects of electrocardiography including the standard 12-lead ECG, vectorcardiography, signal-averaged ECG, event monitoring, and 24-hour ambulatory monitoring for rhythm, ischemia and heart rate variability assessment. In 1967, the ECG Laboratory became one of the first ECG laboratories in the world to develop computer-assisted ECG analysis. The laboratory currently analyzes more than 180,000 electrocardiograms, 3,000 event recordings and 12,000 ambulatory monitor recordings yearly. The ECG reference laboratory provides analysis service to 52 hospitals, clinics and corporate medical departments in five states.
