The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory staff performs hundreds of cardiac catheterizations each year, offering:
- Assessment for cardiomyopathy (constrictive versus restrictive)
- Assessment for valve leakage or blockage
- Balloon angioplasty
- Brachytherapy
- Coronary angioplasty
- Coronary artery stenting, including new drug-coated stents
- Diagnostic coronary angiography
- Diagnostic left and right heart catheterization
- Endomyocardial biopsy
- Other interventional procedures, including rotational coronary atherectomy (Rotablator) and Angiojet
- Use of distal embolization devices
